Sustainable Paper Guide

Sustainable by design

Making an impact, together.

Green Spirit stands for the conviction that our actions, and those of our customers, can bring about change. Our common goal is to find a way to treat our planet and its resources with care.

We have been contributing towards the preservation of the environment for many years. The combination of Green Range, Green Insight and Green Future forms the foundation for our future-oriented actions, which are reflected in Green Spirit.

Cradle to Cradle Certified®

Cradle to Cradle Certified®

Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a globally recognised measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy. This full-scope certification covers all aspects from sourcing to production, and certifies that our products are produced and used in line with circular economy principles.

Green Range

Our hallmark for sustainable products

We place great emphasis on the sustainability of our papers at Mondi UFP. We achieve this by embedding sustainability in all our actions, brands and products. Green Range is a symbol of our contribution towards a resource-efficient approach in our production.

Green Insight

Everything you need to know about sustainability

We take a universal approach to sustainability. We support our customers and partners in all things relating to sustainability – including Cradle to Cradle Certified®, sustainable forestry and CO₂ reduction and compensation – and offer guidance to help them navigate the complexities of choosing sustainable papers.

Cycle of Sustainability

The possibility to create high-quality paper from a waste product is a great thing. It means making the most of the resources we have. However, paper cannot be recycled indefinitely. After around four to six lifecycles, the fibre is no longer suitable for recycling.

Even with the most thorough post-consumer collection of recovered paper, we would run out of usable paper to recycle. This is why we produce many of our paper brands with so-called fresh fibre taken from sustainably grown forests. This fibre is then turned into regular professional printing or office paper.

Unlike traditional producers of recycled paper, we are in the fortunate position to be able to cover every aspect of the cycle of sustainability. Our mills all over Europe all use pulp from sustainably managed forests exclusively, which either are from Mondi-managed forests or bought from the world market.

Mondi Action Plan 2030

Mondi is determined to make a difference.

The Mondi Action Plan 2030 (MAP 2030) sets out the actions we will take as a Group to meet our ambitious 2030 sustainability goals. We believe that by focusing on circular driven solutions, created by empowered people, taking action on climate we will have the most positive impact.

Green Future

Generating momentum together

Our community pursues the same goals we do, to set a new direction and find sustainable ways to save resources and protect the environment. Green Future highlights actions that contribute to a more sustainable future and inspire the community to take new initiatives.

Offsetting unavoidable CO₂ emissions

Reducing emissions and optimising our production processes is of the utmost importance to us, and while our efforts have had a great impact on CO₂ reduction, a certain residual amount of CO₂ emissions remains.

All our papers for professional print and office use, as well as premium packaging and technical converting papers are available to have CO₂ emissions offset on an optional basis. This means that we take care of calculating unavoidable emissions and offsetting them with the support of ClimatePartner.

Our customers and partners believe in a sustainable future.
